Frequently Asked Questions
GSA Water Testing

What does GSA water testing include?

GSA water testing includes on-site water sample collection, laboratory analysis, detailed reporting, and recommendations to help facilities meet GSA drinking water quality requirements and maintain a safe water supply.

Testing can include Legionella, coliform bacteria, E. coli, lead, copper, heavy metals, and other chemical or microbiological contaminants based on your facility’s requirements and applicable regulations.

Testing frequency depends on GSA requirements, building type, water system risk, and previous test results. Many facilities perform routine annual or scheduled monitoring, with additional testing after plumbing changes or water quality concerns.

The GSA Drinking Water Quality Management (DWQM) mandate requires federal facilities to monitor, manage, and maintain safe drinking water through regular testing, risk assessment, and corrective actions to protect building occupants.
