Frequently Asked Questions
Asbestos Testing & Inspections

Does a home inspection include asbestos testing?

No. A standard home inspection does not include asbestos testing. Separate sampling and laboratory analysis are required to confirm the presence of asbestos.

Buildings constructed before the 1970s are more likely to contain asbestos-containing materials in insulation, flooring, ceiling tiles, roofing, and pipe coverings.

On-site sample collection usually takes 30–60 minutes, while laboratory results are typically available within 1-3 business days.

Undisturbed asbestos is generally low risk. It becomes hazardous when damaged or disturbed, releasing fibers into the air that can be inhaled.

Yes. Testing is strongly recommended before any renovation or demolition to identify asbestos-containing materials and ensure safe removal if needed.

If asbestos is detected, you’ll receive a detailed report with recommendations. Depending on its condition, it may be safely managed, encapsulated, or removed by licensed professionals.
